What is a water prefilter?

A pre-filter, also known as a sediment filter, eliminates dirt, sand, rust, silt, and other large suspended particles and sediments from the water before it goes through the primary filtration system. It cleans the water and prepares it for further purification.

A pre-filter is an integral part of almost any air purifier that you see on the market. It's the first filtration stage, and it essentially helps capture large particles. This prolongs your filter's life, making your system much more efficient.

3 Main Models of Our Water Prefilter

a. Direct flush prefilter

Principle: Using 40-micron to 100-micron accuracy stainless steel filter mesh, the water penetrates from the inner wall to the outer wall through the pressure of tap water.
The membrane pores retain large particles such as sediment, rust, red worms, and other impurities. Opening the flushing valve can flush away the impurities and realize the flushing of the stainless steel filter mesh.

b. Siphon prefilter

Principle: Through the pressure of the tap water penetrating from the outer wall to the inner wall, impurities such as sediment, rust, red worms, and other particles are retained by the membrane pores on the surface. Opening the flushing switch can form negative pressure around the filter mesh. The silicone scrubbing strip can more effectively remove the dirt impurities retained on the filter mesh.

c. Backwashing prefilter

Principle: Through high-pressure back spraying technology, built-in spin high-pressure spray gun to achieve a thorough cleaning.
We have the patented semi-automatic backwashing technology: one-button backwashing mode automatically turns on and off through precise fluidics and mechanical design. The recoil mode opens automatically by hydraulics and spring.

However, simple flushes may not be sufficient as hardness tends to form an hard scale that clogs the scree. When necessary, remove the stainless steel cartridge, clean it with a brush, and/or soak it in vinegar.
